For every disease there is a type of medication to treat it
For every disease there is a type of medication to treat it. Allah has not sent down a disease that He has not also sent the cure for it. Jabir Bin Abdullah(RA) narrated that the Prophet(SAWS) said:
"Every disease has a medicine: If the medication for a particular
disease is found, the disease will be cured with Allah's permission."
(Muslim)
Suras As Medication
1. Al-Fatihah-many of the sahabah used its recitation as ruqyah and applied it effectively on many occasions and was approved by the Prophet(SAWS). It also treats insanity.
2. The Al-Mu'awaithat( the protecting surah's-these are the last three surah's of Qur'an, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq,and An-Nas. These were often recited when a person was stung by a scorpion, or other harmful things.
3. Surat ul-Baqarah-recited as protection against Shaitan and his evil. Abu Hurayrah(RA) reported that the Prophet(SAWS) said:
" Do not turn your homes into graveyards (by not reciting Qur'an).
Indeed, satan is dispelled from a room in which Surat-ul-Baqarah is
recited." [Muslim and At-Tirmithi]
4. Ayat ul-Kursi-contains great description and praise of Allah's power, knowledge and other most sublime qualities. It is known as the greatest Ayat in Qur'an. It is great protection against satan and his allies.
5. The Last Two Ayat From Surat ul-Baqarah-distinguishes praise from Allah
(SWT) from the Prophet(SAWS) and his followers. If recited at night before going to sleep, they provide protection from all harm and evil.
Sunnah Medications:
6. Isti'athah-this is to verbally seek Allah's refuge from Shaitan. It is an important defense from his harm and plottings.
7.RUQYAH of the Earth-mixing saliva with earth and rubbing it on the ailing part saying:
"Bismillah, turbatu, ardina, biriqati, ba'dina, yushfa saqimuna,
bi'thni rabbina-With Allah's name, and with this soil of our earth and our
saliva, our sick will be cured with our Lord's permission." [Bukhari/Muslim]
8. Seek Ruqyah for the Evil Eye, ulcers, general pain and sickness.
Some people discourage the sick from seeking medical treatment. They think that this will conflict with true reliance(tawakkul) on Allah. Seeking treatment for ailments is an obligation on everyone who is ill and could spread sickness to others. Whether by Natural, Qur'anic or Sunnah, medical treatment is the key to good mental, spiritual and bodily health.
